Assignment 29: Chord Inversions

INSTRUCTIONS: (Part 1 – Triads & 7th  chords in Major Keys)

Notate the chord indicated in the proper inversion using the major key signature provided.

Step 1: Using the key signature, identify the key

Step 2: Determine the root pitch of the required chord

Step 3: Using the clef provided, notate the chord in the specified inversion

Note: The key signature is given, so use accidentals only where required (e.g., in minor where chords change when the 6th & 7th scale degrees are raised).

To receive full points, you must follow all notational conventions learned. You may lose partial points if your notation is messy or hard to read.

If you Ive forgotten about melodic/harmonic minor scales refer to unit 3: lesson 14.

For a refresher on what these scales do to diatonic chords, see unit 5: lesson 23.
