SUBJECT DESCRIPTION
This subject introduces students to the basic concepts, theories and principles of economics, and requires students to apply these concepts to both real and hypothetical business situations. The subject provides students with the opportunity to understand the broad economic contexts in which businesses operate, and to analyse contemporary economic issues and events presented in the mainstream media.

This subject is a core unit and provides a foundation for further studies in economics, business and finance through an introductory analysis of consumer and business behaviour in a range of market structures
