Exam Format
This is an online Exam created using the MyLab Statistics platform. that you have been working in all semester.
The questions, how they look, how you answer them etc. will all be the same that you have experienced all semester
HOWEVER,
the exam is located in the e-Asessment platform, where the online exams for all units are located.
The exam comprises approximately 110 minutes worth of work, and you are given 2 hours 10 minutes to complete and submit it (130 minutes)
The type of questions in the exam will reflect those that you have experienced in the Online Homeworks and more specifically, in the MyStudy Plan – except NEITHER THE “QUESTION HELP” NOR THE “TEXTBOOK” LINK will be available.
Where relevant, the questions may include links to relevant data files.
The questions comprise the following types:
True / False
Multiple Choice Questions
(either with or without EXCEL data file provided)
Fill-In the Blanks
MyStudy Plan contains many examples of all of these question types and it is essential that you spend many hours practicing on them.
Relevant Sections to study in MyStudy Plan, along with the special instructions provided as ‘Instructors Tips’ in the Weekly Online Homeworks, can be found in ‘MyStudy Plan EXAM STUDY GUIDE_2025.xlsx’ located in the ASSESSMENTS section on Moodle, under the 4. Examination tab.
This exam is OPEN ACCESS, with access to EXCEL.
YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO USE A SECONDARY DEVICE DURING YOUR EXAM.
YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO USE AI OR GEN AI IN YOUR EXAM.
You will be required to use EXCEL.
You still need to prepare notes for such open book exams.
It would NOT be wise to expect to have time to trawl through the Moodle site, lecture notes, tutorial documents, e-Textbook. You should expect that accessing such things would be very slow and take up too much time.
You should think about setting up generic EXCEL spreadsheets where relevant, so that you are ready for any calculations required.
You should be familiar with using any relevant statistical functions in EXCEL.
Be familiar with providing answers to the required number of decimal places.
