Assessment Details

 

Assessment Purpose

The purpose of this assessment is to identify and explain management and leadership concepts and/or practices found within a specific company. Students will analyse how the company addresses three management issues and relate these to relevant theories. Recommendations for improvement will be included.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use

 

AI USE AUTHORISED 

In this assessment there are certain elements authorised for use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support achievement of the learning outcomes in accordance with the guidelines and the assessment instructions below.

Guidelines for authorised use of AI

You are recommended to use AI tools from the list below:

· ChatGPT (or similar text generators)

· DALL-E (or similar image generators)

You can use these AI tools in the following ways:

· Generate passages of text that must then be transformed to apply to the specific context of the assessment.

· Produce summaries of accounting concepts and topics as a basis for further non-AI-assisted enquiry.

· Generate counter arguments to refine and strengthen main arguments presented in the assessment.

· Develop definitions that serve as starting points for further discussion and evaluation.

· Create visuals to support video presentations, such as diagrams or concept illustrations.

Any use of AI tools must be appropriately acknowledged. If the AI tools you wish to use are not included on the list provided, you should discuss this with your lecturer first.

You CANNOT use AI tools to generate your whole assessment submission.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  

· Refer to the Artificial Intelligence in Education (AIED) Framework and Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Assessment Guidelines for further information.     

· Engaging with AI tools without authorisation can result in a breach of academic integrity. 

· Using AI in an unethical or irresponsible manner, such as copying or paraphrasing the output without citation or evidence; or using the output as your own work without verification or integration or using the output to misrepresent your knowledge or skills, is considered a form. of academic misconduct. Refer to the Academic Integrity Policy and Procedures for more details. 

Assessment Instructions

· Choose a company in your discipline's industry (excluding Amazon, Microsoft, Etsy, and Dexus Property).

· Identify and explain three management issues and their relevance to management theories.

· Include an introduction, findings with subheadings, and recommendations.

· Recommendations must be specific, actionable, and linked to the analysis.

· Use a report format, including an executive summary, introduction, findings, and conclusion.

· Minimum of 4 credible references (APA style).

You are recommended to use the ICMS Library databases (EBSCO Discovery Service) to find academic peer-reviewed sources of information.

Referencing non-credible sources of information such as Wikipedia, blogs and personal websites, social media posts, internet forums or discussion boards, self-published books, advertisements, unverified news websites or similar, will not be counted as references.

Guidance for Success

Academic Integrity

Recognition

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) – you can apply to have your previous learning, formal/non-formal/informal, recognised.

Credit Transfer (CT) – you can apply for credit if you have previously previous formal learning.

Assessment feedback, review or appeals

Feedback will be provided via Moodle after the quiz submission and grading process is complete.

In accordance with the Student Review of Assessment Results Procedures, all students have the right to request a review of an assessment decision in relation to how the assessment was conducted and the outcome of the assessment. Applications to review assessment result must be lodged within 10 working days of the formal publication or notification of the result of the assessment.
